After 39 years at our location on the corner 7th and M streets, Birch Horton Bittner Cherot’s (“BHBC”) Anchorage office has relocated to the Peterson Tower at 510 L Street, Suite 700, effective April 1, 2017. Our telephone numbers and email addresses have not changed, and our web address, with our newly launched site, remains www.birchhorton.com.
It has been busy and challenging to relocate 21 lawyers and our support staff, many of whom have spent much or all of their professional careers in a single location – I imagine quite a few of us will habitually pull into the old parking lot a number of times before getting used to the new routine. It is not so dissimilar from moving from a long-time home residence, in that cleaning out the nooks and crannies has yielded numerous “treasures,” including forgotten yellowed-photographs, microcassettes, dictaphones, and floppy disks. One certainly gets more discriminating on what is being saved when the decision has to be made to pack it and move it! On a similar positive note, having our shareholders pitch in to pack up all of our files has been inspiration for BHBC to trend towards a paperless law practice.
BHBC has had the privilege of growing with Anchorage, and many of our clients, over the last 45 years, from humble beginnings over the Gaslight Bar to our stand-alone building on Seventh that we filled to capacity. We are excited for the next chapter as we get settled in to our newly renovated offices with additional conference space, state of the art technology, and great views of the City of Anchorage. BHBC looks forward to continuing to provide our clients throughout Alaska with exceptional legal services, and welcome all to visit our new offices.
