Biography
Brian Durrell practices in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax planning and business law. Brian grew up on a family farm in Oregon. Brian and his wife, Sandy, moved to Anchorage in 1980 after Brian graduated from the University of Oregon Law School. Brian has spent his entire professional career practicing in Anchorage. He began his career as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand, specializing in estate and gift tax matters. Brian joined Bogle & Gates in 1983, where he practiced law for 14 years focusing on business law and estate planning. He founded the Durrell Law Group in 1997 where he worked for 27 years. After a 45-year professional career, Brian joined Birch Horton Bittner & Cherot in 2025 in an of counsel position as he began the wind down of his practice.
Brian works remotely, spending summers in Oregon and winters in Arizona.
