Biography

Ms. Michaletz provides advice and advocacy for clients facing complex business, healthcare, probate, and insurance coverage decisions and disputes. Her litigation practice also includes tort liability litigation, unfair trade practices claims, and medical malpractice defense.  Ms. Michaletz has advocated on behalf of her clients in most judicial districts and at all trial and appellate court levels in Alaska state courts, in the Alaska and D.C. federal district courts, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Ms. Michaletz also counsels clients on administrative law and regulatory compliance in the areas of healthcare, election, and municipal law.
 
Prior to joining the firm, as a trial attorney in the Anchorage District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Michaletz tried dozens of jury trials throughout Alaska, prosecuting domestic violence, property, and homicide cases.  Mara has studied and lived abroad in Germany, the Netherlands, England, and Sweden, and is proud to have called Alaska home since clerking for the Honorable Peter Michalski of the Anchorage Superior Court in 2006.
