Leila R. Kimbrell

Ms. Kimbrell joined the firm in 2015, bringing with her a strong background in government. Her practice includes providing general legal services to municipal governments throughout Alaska. This involves drafting contracts, professional services agreements, resolutions and ordinances; advising governing bodies and elected officials on such issues as open meetings laws and election laws, planning and zoning issues, public records, taxation and special assessments, collections, and code enforcement matters. Ms. Kimbrell is experienced in administrative hearings, civil litigation and appeals; employment-related matters and all other issues relevant to the day-to-day operations of Alaska municipal governments. Her practice also includes regulatory, public finance, commercial and real property transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kimbrell served in Washington, D.C. as a policy advisor to U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski on matters relating to federal budget and appropriations, taxation, banking and financial services, insurance, labor and pensions, small business, and telecommunications issues. With this diverse background, Ms. Kimbrell is available to advise clients on many different levels and help them navigate through the often complex layers government bureaucracy.
