Career Opportunity for a Firm Administrator in Anchorage Headquarters

BHBC is looking for a dynamic individual to be responsible for managing the administrative operations of the Firm, including supervising all non-attorney personnel; evaluation and managing the Firms’ operation and information systems, including the Firm’s accounting functions; training and on-boarding of new employees to the Firm’s technology systems and software; assisting in the marketing of the Firm’s legal services and client development activities; and managing the Firm’s hardware/assets and facilities.

The Firm Administrator reports to the Managing Shareholder, and may be requested to make reports to the Board of Directors on a periodic basis.

Responsibilities and Challenges:

  • Point of contact for general administrative operations of the Firm
  • Supervising and overseeing training of non-attorney personnel
  • Assessing staffing needs, making personnel decisions in coordination with the Managing Shareholder
  • Coordination of marketing efforts for the Firm’s legal services and client activities, including overseeing the Firm’s website and online presence
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related environments including systems software, applications; point of contact for service providers and vendors
  • Interface with vendors to administer the Firm’s telephone system and other support hardware services, including printers, copiers, postage meter, etc.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • At least five (5) years of related work experience, preferably in a legal environment
  • Experience with Windows 10 desktop environment, VMware, SaaS, Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Cloud technologies is strongly desired
  • Experience working with legal applications including document management systems, macro and template software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, write clearly and informatively, edit work for spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information
  • Effective employee management, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possess vendor management and customer service skills
  • High level of discretion; must be comfortable handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
