Our firm has long maintained a general commercial litigation capability in our D.C. office. This litigation practice is led by the firm’s founder, Ronald Birch, who is an experienced civil litigator of recognized superior ability. Mr. Birch also serves as a lead arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association on major business contractual disputes.
Mr. Birch is aided by two senior litigation associates with substantial first-chair litigation experience (James H. Lister and David E. Lampp). The D.C. office also pursues regulatory litigation within the areas of its specialty regulatory practices: natural resources, telecommunications and Small Business Administration procurement programs, as well as litigation related to its legislative and appropriations work.
Over the last ten to fifteen years, employment law and litigation has been a central part of Mr. Birch’s practice, both as a litigator and an arbitrator experienced in assisting parties with dispute resolution (and, if necessary, awarding binding arbitration judgments).
Clients who obtain our firm’s services for other reasons often seek our advice on employment matters, too, and we have correspondingly developed and cultivated this capacity. In most instances, we represent employers, but on occasion we have represented plaintiffs, including some multiple-plaintiff cases. This experience has given BHBC a practical perspective that more narrowly focused law firms may lack.
Our Anchorage office maintains proportionally larger commercial litigation and employment law practices and is available to assist the D.C. office when called upon.
