Mr. Kent’s practice focuses on civil litigation in trial and appellate courts, including representation of plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury, wrongful death and subrogation claims, as well as insurance coverage and commercial disputes. In addition, he advises on land use regulations and prosecutes code violations for various cities and boroughs throughout the state.

Representative Matters and Selected Clients

• Therchik v. Grant Aviation, Inc., 74 P.3d 191 (Alaska 2003), which required insurers in Alaska to strictly comply with Alaska’s regulations when drafting policy endorsements restricting coverage of attorneys fees.
• Phillip D. Casciola v. F.S. Air Service, Inc., 120 P.3d 1059 (Alaska 2005), which upheld a large punitive damage award in a breach of contract and fraud action to punish intentional torts motivated by financial gain.
