Ms. Alexander has been associated with Birch, Horton, Bittner and Cherot since 2000. Her practice emphasizes representation of union and non-union employers in all areas of labor and employment law. She has experience representing employers in proceedings before the Alaska Superior Court, U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska, National Labor Relations Board, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Alaska State Commission for Human Rights, Equal Rights Commission, Department of Labor, and in labor and employment arbitrations. Ms. Alexander counsels employers in matters of union organizing, contract negotiations, unfair labor practices, grievance arbitration, settlement agreements, disciplinary matters, confidentiality agreements, wage and hour compliance, race and age discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, substance abuse and drug testing, employment policies and handbooks, employment contracts, covenants not to compete, collective bargaining and contract interpretation.
